Shame on Roy Blunt

This week, Senator Roy Blunt and a minority of his Senate colleagues teamed up to defeat universal background checks--commonsense gun violence prevention supported by 85% of Missourians.  Their actions and votes are reprehensible and shameful.

After the heartbreaking Senate vote, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords wrote the following:

I am asking every reasonable American to help me tell the truth about the cowardice these senators demonstrated. I am asking for mothers to stop these lawmakers at the grocery store and tell them: You’ve lost my vote. I am asking activists to unsubscribe from these senators’ e-mail lists and to stop giving them money. I’m asking citizens to go to their offices and say: You’ve disappointed me, and there will be consequences.

So let’s do it.  Let’s make sure Senator Roy Blunt is held accountable for his cowardice.

Please add your name to our petition TODAY, and remind Senator Blunt that those of us in Missouri’s 85% will NOT forget his vote.  And while you’re at it, encourage your friends to sign their names, too.  As President Obama said yesterday, this is only Round One.
