Governor Nixon vetoes bill that would harm Missouri children

This morning Governor Nixon vetoed SB 24:

“I don’t sign bills that hurt kids – period,” Gov. Nixon said of the bill, which would affect an estimated 6,400 needy children in Missouri.

This bill would deepen poverty and hunger in our state. Among other disastrous results, this bill would initially cause an estimated 6,400 Missouri children to lose services when they need it most, and then thousands more over time. Revoking food assisstance to children is just wrong. That’s why your legislators should uphold Nixon's veto and protect children in Missouri from the devastating impact of this bill.

Tell your legislators to uphold Nixon's veto and protect Missouri children.
