We’re all excited about judicial rulings in favor of marriage equality in state after state, but what’s happening with the lawsuits working their way through the Missouri courts? Here’s a quick breakdown:

Poll: 4 in 5 Missourians concerned about HB 1307

A poll released this week by the American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri (ACLU of Missouri), shows widespread disapproval of the Missouri legislature’s extreme anti-women’s health agenda. In a statement about the poll ACLU of Missouri Executive Director Jeffrey A. Mittman said:

Clergy Shut Down the Senate, Demand Action on Medicaid Expansion

Today, clergy and people of faith from across Missouri traveled to Jefferson City to implore their lawmakers to pass Medicaid Expansion. They stressed that lives are at stake, as Missourians are currently dying from lack of healthcare and 700 more will die each year without Medicaid Expansion. After a rally in the rotunda, clergy filed into the Senate and, in an act of civil disobedience, disrupted the senators' debate. They announced: "We stand together as people of faith. Expand Medicaid! Do your job! Expand Medicaid!"

Rep. Dave Hinson Complains About Underfunded Schools, Votes To Make It Worse

Rep. Dave Hinson (R-St. Clair) is behaving in a peculiar manner. He is upset that Missouri's schools are underfunded. So upset, in fact, that he voted to make the situation worse.
